The pig's head, laundry and granita - destination Cefalù

Granita siciliana  I have noticed recently that the older I am the more cleanliness freak I become (it can actually has something to do with the business I am working for as well ;)). Luckily, my germophobic behaviours doesn't prevent me from travelling even to such not-so-sterile places as Sicily so I guess there is no need to panic. Especially, that panicking is my second old man's habit... :P It is a ctually quite odd how much love I have for the smelly and messy Mediterranean island of Sicily. And if you are going to Sicily, or planning to go all I can say is that I envy you so, so very much! This year I will not be able to do the same, and so with this short (I hope) post I would like to tell you a little bit about the true but not obvious beauty of Cefalù - a small S icilian town located in the Northern part of the island, right between Palermo and Messina. I have spend there just one day so my aim is not to play the smart, just to s hare my impression

Watch out London, I'll be back!

Lets  talk about London. Oh no, I forgot you are not that much talkative :P So let me just write a few words about this posh city of fashion, art, business and money. London, 2015 First of all I have spend in London about 48 hours, and for a city like that it is definitely not much. But I believe in the power of the first impression. Yup, I even believe in the love at first sight! So this two crazy and intense days were enough for me to feel the sensation and decide I am coming back to London soon, although I cannot call this feeling love. But let's start from the beginning as nature intended. The first thing I have noticed was a massive traffic jam, which is just so typical for big cities. I got stuck in a bus and as usually in this kind of situation my nerves got a little bit tense. The journey from the Stansted Airport to the Victoria Station took more time than the flight from Cracow to UK. It was a nice and sunny day and I got really, really pissed off know

Let's just do it my way

Budapest,  Liberty Bridge Recently, probably due to the holiday season, I have came across few articles about different ways of travelling. At first I was surprised that people actually put so much effort just to explain how to travel, what to do or what to avoid. But then I read some interesting things about sustainable tourism and slow travel. Both topics have inspired me to think through my own way of travelling. And here you are a few tips I would like to share with you as I find them working very well for me. I realize those tips may not apply for everyone but like I said at the beginning – it is my way or the highway, so let’s just hit the road with me ;) Before I start, just a note that I am not a fan of labels of any kind – I don’t divide people on travelers (who are open-minded and cool) and tourists (who are stupid, lazy and dull). I am also not able to put myself in any category since sometimes I travel with  a backpack and other time with a suitcase. I e

Free your mind – this is Oslo art

Vigeland Park, Olso 2015 Today a little bit about this weird and truly democratic version of art that can be seen both on the streets of Oslo as well as in its art galleries and exhibitions. And since the city is so open-minded also art is not necessarily treated with a deadly seriousness. Art after all can be fun. First of all I must say that in my head I divide art in three categories that are not academic nor scientific but just mine. I make them up just for my personal use so under any circumstances do not use them in a serious and academic dispute ;) This categories are: the great art, the common art and Nature. Nature - with a capital letter - because frankly, it is an uber-artist that creates the most dazzling and breathtaking works of art ever. And never repeat itself. Amen.  The idea of the “great art” for me is the one that can be found in places like Uffizzi Gallery or Louvre and is in fact the work of the greatest artists. I put this stuff in the box labe
