The most haunted place in America

Image
Alcatraz known also as “The Rock” or as the prisoners used to called it “Hellcatraz” has been on my bucket list for a while.   As you already know I like to visit   cementaries, old ruins and so a visit in the former maximum high-security prison was   something I just couldn’t resist.  People say this place is haunted but for me it is just a scary, creepy place with an eerie atmosphere and dampness that is destroying the old walls. And those walls have seen a lot… On the way to Alcatraz, 2016 Alcatraz is an island located about 2 km offshore from San Francisco and from 1934 until 1963 it hosted a federal prison described as the toughest prison in America. At the entrance to the main prison there is a huge board that says:  B reak the rules and you go to prison. Break the prison rules and you go to Alcatraz. As you can imagine the prisoners were not the nicest guys so do not be fooled by their innocent faces. This prison was dedicated to the worst of the worst among cri

I left my heart in San Francisco

Actually, I wasn’t even planning to go to San Francisco in the first place. When I started to plan my trip the windy city by the bay seemed too distant, too fancy, too hippie and too wild for a nice girl like me.   On the way I changed and I’ve changed my mind as well. I decided to sleep at the airport and luckily my luggage arrived about   8 am (you have no idea how happy I was when I got it back!). From the moment I arrived to the city   I was so delighted, as if someone was spraying something in the air. The streets, coffee places, people, buildings, piers  – everything seemed so nice and friendly. And then I got to my hostel which turend out to be one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in. Remember, if you are ever in San Francisco Green Tortoise Hostel is a perfect place to sta

Turkey Last Minute

Who would have thought a person like me could ever decide to go on the last minute, all inclusive package holidays? For sure not the people who know me.   They all know that I always travel the way I like the most – even if not solo still independently and by my own way. But this time – as it was a difficult first half of the year – I've decided to treat myself with something different and indulge in the divine 3S: sun, sand and sea. The plan was to simply rest and do nothing (as if it was possible at all) and I thought that the best place to do this would be Turkish Riviera. As I’ve been avoiding organized holidays for all of my life this turned out to be a pretty interesting experience and so I would like to share with you not only my pictures form the Turkish holidays but also some pros and cons of it.
